Since being established in 1912 The Sussex Deaf Association has helped thousands
of deaf people in need of support and guidance to help with everyday needs hearing
people take for granted. We are an independent charitable voluntary organisation
providing support, social and welfare service for deaf, deafblind, deafened and hard
of hearing people across Sussex. We are a service user led charity.
On 27th April 2012 we held our 100th birthday surrounded by faces past and present.
Today SDA is currently located in Whitehawk area of Brighton.
Due to a nursery being on site, only Hearing Dogs for The Deaf or Guide Dogs for
The Blind are allowed and must be wearing the coat and on a lead at all times. No
general pet dogs allowed.
